Our work

Influencing policy -– The We-Engage! app is a self-assessment tool to measure organizational strengths and weaknesses in policy and advocacy and guidance on the direction of tools and resources.

Diversifying African Civil Society’s Resources – Research by the Hub and partners has been published in an inspirational practical guide, the Alternative Funding Model Guidebook for Civil Society Organizations, with input from 20 organizations spanning 10 countries on the continent.

National and Continental Pop-up Events – The purpose of these Pop-up events is to share information about I4C-Africa Hub initiatives with the governments, private sector, and other CSOS. The Hub has organized the events in Nigeria, Liberia, Uganda, and Morocco.

Social Innovation Challenge(SIC) – Empowering Civil Society on the continent through initiatives such as the Social Innovation Challenge, where local projects aimed at strengthening civic freedoms and have the potential to scale are supported with funding and mentorship opportunities.

Thematic Webinars – The Hub organizes thematic webinars bringing together prominent voices from Civil Society across the continent for productive discussions on challenges, responses, and opportunities.

Regional Connectors – The Hub has brought on board Regional Connectors to support and coordinate the Hub’s work across Africa. They include:
• North Africa: International Centre for Diplomacy(ICD)
• East Africa: Advocacy Accelerator(AA).
• Southern Africa: Africa Philanthropy Network (APN).
• Western Africa: West Africa Civil Society Institute(WACSI).
• Central Africa: Réseau des Plates-formes Nationales d’ONG de l’Afrique Centrale/Network of National NGO Platforms from Central Africa.

Expanding the sharing economy – Building on the LAC Hub’s and MENA’S successful CommuniDAS platform, the Hub enlisted consultants to research opportunities and options for developing a ‘Sharing-Economy’ Platform for civil society in Africa. The report explores the feasibility of building transparency and promotion of financial sustainability of CSOs through exchanging crowdfunding services or other forms of resource sharing.
