I4C-Africa Hub takes Part in National Dialogue Committee Forum

 

The main objective of the NDC meeting held at a Nairobi hotel on 10 February was to plan the agenda for the National Dialogue Forum (NDF) slated for March in preparation for the 7th East Africa Community Annual Secretary General’s Forum.

 

I4C- Africa Hub took part in the 1st National Dialogue Committee (NDC) meeting convened by the Ministry of East African Community(EAC) and Regional Development in partnership with Kenya Private Sector Alliance and the East African Civil Society Organizations’ Forum.

The main objective of the NDC meeting held at a Nairobi hotel on 10 February was to plan the agenda for the National Dialogue Forum (NDF) slated for March in preparation for the 7th East Africa Community Annual Secretary General’s Forum.

The forum will be held under the theme “Towards a post-COVID-19 recovery for Socio-economic transformation”.

 

The forum brought together over 30 stakeholders.

 

Some of the proposed sub-themes for the forum include positioning the EAC Private Sector towards recovery, inclusive governance, Institutional Strengthening for post-COVID-19 recovery, and the rule of law and development in the EAC.

The meeting is in line with the EAC Consultative Dialogue Framework for structured national and regional consultations for civil society organizations, the private sector, and other interest groups such as professionals, trade unions, Persons with Disabilities, youth, political parties, inter-religious organizations, among others.

All stakeholders were requested to submit topics that will form the agenda for the Secretary General’s Forum.
